Who writes and reviews our content
Every page on this website is written or reviewed by a Texas-licensed funeral professional or a member of Vargas-London leadership. Our author lineup:
- Carlos Vargas — CEO, co-founder, and Texas Licensed Funeral Director. Texas Funeral Service Commission License No. 119648. Carlos reviews every page that touches Texas funeral law, the FTC Funeral Rule, embalming, cremation, casketing, or arrangement-conference disclosures.
- Reggie London — Chief Operating Officer and co-founder. Reggie is the principal author of our pricing research, our Funeral Rule consumer guide, and our funeral-insurance vs. savings analysis.
Sourcing standards
We cite primary sources only. When we reference Texas law, we link to statutes.capitol.texas.gov or the Texas Funeral Service Commission. When we reference federal funeral consumer-protection law, we link to ftc.gov — the FTC Funeral Rule itself, 16 C.F.R. Part 453. When we reference cremation industry data, we link to the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) or the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).
We do not cite secondary aggregators, content-marketing blogs from other funeral homes, or law-firm blog posts. We do not fabricate statistics. If a number on this site is unverified, it is marked [STAT: source pending] until a source is confirmed.
Pricing transparency
Every service page on this website that describes a service also references the FTC Funeral Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 453) and the requirement that funeral homes provide a written, itemized General Price List on request. Our published General Price List is at /pricing.html. Specific prices, package contents, and availability are confirmed in writing at the arrangement conference, before any decision is made.
We do not publish testimonials about pricing without family permission. We do not solicit reviews with incentives. We do not edit testimonials beyond grammatical correction.
Photography and imagery
Photographs of our staff and our office are real photographs of real people who work at Vargas-London. We do not use stock photography of staff. We do not publish photographs of decedents under any circumstance — including in schema markup, OG cards, or any image asset on the site. Photographs of families we have served appear only with that family's written permission.
Reverence and tone
This is a funeral home website. We will not use urgency language ("act now," "limited time"). We will not use comparative claims ("best," "premier," "leading") that the FTC considers risky in funeral marketing. We will not promise specific outcomes or feelings. We will not mix the language of a sales funnel with the language of bereavement.
If you ever encounter copy on this site that violates that standard, write to Carlos@dallasfuneralhome.services and we will revise it.
Multicultural accuracy
Our pages on Hispanic Catholic tradition (rosario, vigilia, misa de cuerpo presente, sepelio, novenario), Muslim funeral practice (ghusl, kafan, janazah, burial within 24 hours where feasible), South Asian Hindu and Jain rites (antyesti, mukhagni, asthi visarjan), Jewish tradition (tahara, shomer, shiva), and African American home-going services are reviewed for accuracy by community members or clergy familiar with each tradition before publication. If you are a community leader and notice anything that should be corrected or expanded, please reach the editor at the email above.
Updates and review schedule
Every page on this site carries a "Last reviewed" date. Pages that touch the law, the Funeral Rule, or pricing are reviewed at least every six months. Time-sensitive pages (current pricing study, current cemetery operating hours, current legislative updates) are reviewed quarterly. When a page changes, the date updates and the dateModified field in the structured-data block updates with it.
Editorial independence
This website is operated by Vargas-London Funeral Home, LLC. We do not accept advertising. No third party pays for placement, mention, or recommendation on these pages. The Cremation Association of North America, the National Funeral Directors Association, and the Texas Funeral Service Commission are referenced where relevant; none of them have any role in our editorial decisions.
Contact for editorial concerns
If you have a question about how we wrote something, or believe we got a fact wrong, please write to Carlos@dallasfuneralhome.services. We respond to editorial inquiries within two business days. For consumer concerns about Vargas-London as a funeral home, you may also contact the Texas Funeral Service Commission at (888) 667-4881 or tfsc.texas.gov.
